Camberley Hypnotherapy is conveniently located close to central Camberley, Surrey, with parking available and within   15 minutes walk or a short bus ride from the centre (see Find Us).

The practice is run by Cris van Weelen a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and NLP and EFT practitioner having passed the Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma with the Surrey Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy. Cris is a Member (Licentiate) of The National Council for Hypnotherapy and adheres to their Codes of Practice.

What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy takes advantage of the capabilities and potential of the subconscious mind to allow therapeutic changes to happen.

It uses imagery and positive suggestions made by the therapist to help you create new positive realities for yourself.

The most common use of hypnotherapy is to help with problems such as obesity, smoking, pain, anxiety, stress, amnesia, phobias and performance but many other things can also be treated by hypnosis, including some ‘physical’ disorders such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Asthma.

Today Clinical Hypnotherapy is recognised as one of the most effective complimentary therapies. It can produce dramatic results for many problems and issues.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis has been described as an altered state of consciousness or deep relaxation that you allow yourself to enter with the help of the therapist.

However it's not the same as being asleep as you are aware of what's going on around you at all times, there is no loss of control and there are no side effects.

Its a bit like the feeling you have just before you fall asleep or as you wake up in the morning, some people describe it as like being in a daydream. It is a state that most people have experienced at some time or another; for example if you get very involved or absorbed in a book or film you may feel as if you are there.

In this state of relaxation you are more able to respond to suggestions and ideas that are going to help you.


What is NLP?

NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is an advanced technique that helps you master the way you think and feel.

Using NLP we can help you to change your mental, emotional and/or physical state of well being and control your behavioural patterns to overcome phobias, stop smoking, boost your motivation and energy, help with weight loss and improve your health.


What is EFT?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a unique version of acupuncture except you don't use needles. Instead, you stimulate well established energy meridian points on your body by tapping on them with your fingertips. Hence it's common name of  'Tapping'.
